Honeybee Diseases

Honeybees suffer from a variety of diseases that you must be prepared to deal with as a beekeeper. On this site you will find information on the following diseases that have plagued honeybee populations in recent years:

You will also find methods of treatment to help keep you hives healthy and disease free. A mitigating factor to honeybee diseases that is often overlooked it stress. Like humans, bees become more susceptible to disease when they are stressed. Stressors can include a faltering queen, inclemant weather, frequently checking hives, transporting hives, and congestion. It is important that you consider these additional issues along with the diseases present in your colonies.
